AA Provincial Championships Recap -- U16AA Win Silver!
It was a wild and exciting weekend of Ringette in Ottawa for the 2025 AA Provincial Championships.
Three Lynx teams were in action, U14AA, U16AA, and U19AA. All three teams were terrific in round robin play and advanced into the Semi-Finals.
London U14AA finished RR with a 2-1-2 record, +7 goal differential
London U16AA finished RR with a 3-1-1 record, +10 goal differential
London U19AA finished RR with a 3-2-0 record, +3 goal differential
In Semi-Final action the U14AA would go on to lose to the eventual Gold Medal winning Richmond Hill Lightning, before mounting a heroic comeback effort in the second period of the Bronze Medal game, that saw the Lynx narrow a 3 goal deficit, and pull within 1-goal, but fell 5-4 to the Ottawa Ice. Congratulations on a successful season U14AA!
The U16AA London Lynx also faced off against the Richmond Hill Lightning. This time London would come out on top with a 4-2 victory. The U16AA Gold Medal game was a delight to watch. The Lynx battled back from a 2-goal deficit to tie the West Ottawa Wild at 3 and send this game to overtime. After several quality scoring that could have seen the Lynx crowned champs, the Golden-Goal came from the Wild 1:56 into overtime. Congratulations on your well-deserved Silver Medal U16AA and good luck as you advance to the Canadian Ringette Championships March 30th - April 5th in Ottawa.
The U19AA Lynx lost their Semi-Final match against the eventual Gold Medal winning Ajax-Pickering Power. The Bronze Medal game was another thrilling contest that required extra time to declare a winner. Unfortunately the winning goal belonged to Eastern Ontario - Leduc, at 9:18 of the first overtime period. This strong showing was enough to advance the U19AA London Lynx to the Canadian Ringette Championships. Congratulations ladies!
The next exciting action for our London Lynx teams will come the weekend of March 21-23 when our Fundamental, U14 and u16 Regional teams compete in the LORL Championships, hosted by the LRA and DRA, right here in London and Dorchester. Come out and cheer on our Lynx teams!
