2025-2026 Brag Book

London U12A was a perfect 5-0.  They began their weekend raking Richmond Hill and Burlington 14-5 and 6-1.  Their final round robin game was a tightly contested, 6-5, back-and-forth affair with Metcalfe.  In the semi-finals London would get a bit of a scare early, coughing up a goal 11 seconds into the game.  Thankfully the Lynx would wake-up and settle-in and push their way past a determined Guelph team, 5-3.

In the finals, London would rematch against Metcalfe.  Taking nothing for granted after their close round robin match, London came fired up, ready to play.  In a somewhat anti-climactic finish, London would turn in a dominating performance.  Their suffocating forecheck, relentless back-checking  and superior stamina were on display in a 7-1 triumph. This was a broad-based, team effort, with incredible contributions, up-and-down the lineup, by all 13 players.  If U12A can keep this dynamic going, there will be great things ahead.  Good work girls!

London U12R-Shaw also had a fantastic weekend!  This group of Lynx would turn in a very strong RR.  They started action on Friday with a 7-4 win over Guelph.  Their second game would be an excitement-filled dust-up with Caledonia.  After finding themselves down 3-1 in the final period, London would claw their way back and earn a very well-deserved 3-3 draw.  Saturday, U12R-Shaw would have a must-win tilt with home-town Burlington Blast.  These Lynx would deliver the goods, winning 6-3, and earning a birth in the finals.  Unfortunately, their run of success would come to an end in this rematch against Caledonia, with the Lynx dropping the decision 6-1.  Never-the-less, this was a terrific weekend for U12R-Shaw.  This team has come a long way in just a few short months.  They are looking stronger and stronger every week, and will no doubt be back at the rink with their noses to the grind stone this Thursday.  Congratulations on your silver medal U12R-Shaw!!

Our U12A Lynx secured another Gold medal this weekend in Guelph.  Let’s hope this team has not peaked too early and can keep their momentum going during the dog days of March.

U12A has been on a tear, posting a 14-1-2 record since Christmas, including two Tournament Gold Medals.  These young ladies have become known by their reputation as a group that is unwilling to allow themselves to be out-worked by anyone, on or off the ice.

London began their Friday with a tough match against the Sault that ended in a draw,  4-4.  Their second Friday match would be a stronger effort, resulting in a 4-0 win against Guelph.    Saturday morning they battled past Burlington 7-2.  The 4th and final round robin game would feature the undefeated Lynx against the undefeated Waterloo WildFire in a battle for the bye to the Gold Medal game.  London would explode to a quick 2-0 lead, but squander it, ending in a 2-2 draw which would see London finish 2-0-2 and send them to the semi-finals where they would rematch against the Sault.

The Lynx would regroup Saturday night with some fun on Guelph’s finest waterslide at the Fairfield Inn.  This team bonding reset served the Lynx well as they blitzed the Sault 7-1 in one of their most dominant performances of the year.

This would setup a Sunday afternoon rematch against the WildFire.  London decided not to take the easy road and spotted Waterloo a quick 2-goal advantage.  The Lynx would answer back, but each time they tried to narrow the gap, Waterloo would slam the door back shut and reclaim the 2-goal advantage.  With 3:50 left in the game London was still trailing 4-2.  An ill-timed penalty by Waterloo gave London the chance they would need, and in one of the more thrilling conclusions to a game, London would narrow the gap to one, and then tie the game with 52 seconds remaining.  Sensing the palpable momentum shift and the emotional disarray of their opponent, the Lynx would pounce again and score the go ahead goal with 30 seconds to play.  Waterloo would mount a valiant last-ditch effort to tie, but would come up just short.    Go Lynx!!
