London U12A was a perfect 5-0. They began their weekend raking Richmond Hill and Burlington 14-5 and 6-1. Their final round robin game was a tightly contested, 6-5, back-and-forth affair with Metcalfe. In the semi-finals London would get a bit of a scare early, coughing up a goal 11 seconds into the game. Thankfully the Lynx would wake-up and settle-in and push their way past a determined Guelph team, 5-3.
In the finals, London would rematch against Metcalfe. Taking nothing for granted after their close round robin match, London came fired up, ready to play. In a somewhat anti-climactic finish, London would turn in a dominating performance. Their suffocating forecheck, relentless back-checking and superior stamina were on display in a 7-1 triumph.
This was the beginning of a new frontier for London U12A. Many of their early season successes had been focused around the success of a smaller group of players. In Burlington, this gave way to a broad-based, team effort, with incredible contributions, up-and-down the lineup, by all 13 players. If U12A can keep this dynamic going, there will be great things ahead. Good work girls!

London U12R-Shaw also had a fantastic weekend! This group of Lynx would turn in a very strong RR. They started action on Friday with a 7-4 win over Guelph. Their second game would be an excitement-filled dust-up with Caledonia. After finding themselves down 3-1 in the final period, London would claw their way back and earn a very well-deserved 3-3 draw. Saturday, U12R-Shaw would have a must-win tilt with home-town Burlington Blast. These Lynx would deliver the goods, winning 6-3, and earning a birth in the finals. Unfortunately, their run of success would come to an end in this rematch against Caledonia, with the Lynx dropping the decision 6-1. Never-the-less, this was a terrific weekend for U12R-Shaw. This team has come a long way in just a few short months. They are looking stronger and stronger every week, and will no doubt be back at the rink with their noses to the grind stone this Thursday. Congratulations on your silver medal U12R-Shaw!!
